I also noticed on the front page a link to "Python Programmers and Python 
Meetups"  http://python.meetup.com/
As for Oregon there is quiet a bit in Portland 
http://python.meetup.com/cities/us/or/portland/ but not much else...
Any interest on our end to go public ?
