I can connect to the laptop from my workstation.  Is that what you mean?

Using Debian's 2.4.25 kernel.  'dmesg' shows "pty: 256 Unix98 ptys
configured".

mount shows: /, /proc, /dev/pts type devpts, /dev/shm type tmpfs, /boot,
/proc/bus/usb type usbfs, /var/lib/noflushd/devfs type devfs
